Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj organized the Orientation Session for Class Nursery on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Hall from 8:00 a.m. onwards.
The session commenced with a thoughtfully curated and heartwarming video presentation that vividly captured the joyful and enriching learning experiences of young learners. The presentation beautifully showcased a spectrum of classroom engagements, underscoring how a play-based, experiential approach and interactive methodologies foster holistic growth and meaningful transformation in children throughout the academic year.
The orientation formally began with an insightful and inspiring ‘Welcome Address’ by the Vice Principal, Ms. Malini K. Sengupta. She eloquently shared the school’s vision and ethos, while also introducing the Junior School Supervisors and Nursery teachers, thereby establishing a strong foundation for collaboration and open communication with the parents.
This was followed by an informative and well-structured presentation by the Nursery representatives, Ms. Neha Singhal and Ms. Smriti Nayyar. The presentation offered a comprehensive overview of the functioning of Class Nursery, encompassing school timings, lunch break routine, co-curricular engagements, bus routes, dispersal procedure, the adjustment phase, and essential guidelines to ensure a smooth and reassuring transition for the children. It also highlighted the school’s alignment with the principles of the National Education Policy 2020, emphasizing foundational learning through literacy and numeracy, experiential and play-based pedagogy, and nurturing skills in a developmentally appropriate and child-centric manner.
Further enriching the session, the Cambridge Coordinator, Ms. Anju Kaistha, shared valuable insights into the Cambridge Curriculum and its pedagogical framework through an engaging presentation and video. Parents were provided with a glimpse into a holistic, inquiry-driven learning environment, highlighting hands-on experiences, collaborative learning, and a balanced blend of adult-guided and child-initiated activities.
The session culminated in a well-organized ‘School Walk’, wherein parents were divided into seven groups and escorted through Blocks A, B, C, and D by the teachers. This immersive experience offered them a first-hand perspective of the school’s infrastructure, learning spaces, and nurturing environment.
