Celebrating 30 Glorious Years of DPS Vasant Kunj: "Pratibimb"
Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj, commemorated its 30th anniversary with a splendid celebration, ‘Pratibimb’ on 10th August 2024. This momentous occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri B.K. Chaturvedi, Chairman of The Delhi Public School Society, as the Chief Guest; Shri V.K. Shunglu, Vice Chairman of The Delhi Public School Society and Shri Ravi Vira Gupta, Chairman of Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj. Core Working Committee Members of The DPSS, DPS Vasant Kunj Managing Committee Members, Principals of core schools and representatives of local governing bodies illuminated the function with their ennobling presence. Enhancing the nostalgic aura of the event was the benign presence of the retired staff members and alumni. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a profound ritual symbolizing the edifying luminosity of knowledge. The ambience was enlivened by an exuberant welcome song, performed with zeal by the talented students, setting a jubilant tone for the day's festivities.
The Principal, Ms. Deepti Vohra, delivered an eloquent and heartfelt welcome address, reflecting on the school’s illustrious journey over the past three decades. This was followed by an inspiring address from the Chief Guest, Shri B.K. Chaturvedi, who lauded the school’s remarkable achievements and reiterated the role of holistic education in shaping future leaders.
A highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of the commemorative brochure, Striding Through the Annals of Excellence-1994-2024, a beautifully crafted publication capturing the rich tapestry of DPS Vasant Kunj’s history, milestones, and accomplishments. The brochure release was embellished with a scintillating dance performance and seamlessly culminated in an evocative audio-visual presentation, ‘Down Memory Lane,’ which transported the audience through the school’s storied past stirring nostalgia and pride.
The crowning jewel of the event was "Pratibimb- an Insight," an inspirational dance drama that displayed vividly the poignancy of a parent-child relationship. The child forges ahead to carve an individual niche in the world, but at the cost of unwittingly neglecting the parents. The sagacious and ever motivating and nurturing influence of the parents and the teacher, compel him to introspect and revive his floundering relationship. This thought- provoking and mesmerizing performance was a testament to the creativity, dedication, and talent of the faculty and students, leaving the audience spellbound.
The Vice Principal, Ms. Archana Malik delivered an earnest vote of thanks, expressing profound gratitude to all who had contributed to the success of this landmark event. The celebration concluded with the rousing rendition of the National Anthem, by the august assembly.
