Meraki - The Performing Arts and Cultural Festival

An Inter-School competition, ‘Meraki-The Performing Arts and Cultural Festival’, was hosted by Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj on 12 December, 2024. This annual event offered a vibrant platform for children with special needs to showcase their unique talent and creativity, celebrating diversity and embracing the spirit of inclusion.
The event commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the school Principal, Ms. Deepti Vohra, Vice Principal, Ms Archana Malik, Headmistress, Ms. Malini K Sengupta, Supervisor, Ms Meenakshi Malhotra along with the school counsellors.
Around 60 Students from 13 schools across Delhi and NCR enthusiastically participated in a variety of events. Kalarachna, an art event, saw students displaying their artistic skills through painting and craft. In the event, Nupur, young performers captivated the judges with their graceful dances. Participants donned in colourful costumes, delivered powerful performances at the Masquerade event. The amphitheatre came alive with the enchanting sounds of music during Tarang, a music competition.
The students’ energy and enthusiasm filled the air with vibrancy. The event emphasised the importance of inclusion and the power of embracing one another’s uniqueness. The day concluded with the announcement of prizes by Ms Surpreet Oberoi followed by a vote of thanks by Ms Boski Sharma. The heartfelt applause filled their hearts with joy, creating beautiful memories to cherish. The success of Meraki reinforced the vision of Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj to promote inclusivity and a sense of community.
