Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj held a spectacular ceremony on 15 October 2022 to inaugurate the newest addition to its existing impressive infrastructure- the Multi-Purpose Hall. This is yet another achievement for the institution, in its endeavour to provide holistic education.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”  The inauguration plaque was unveiled following the cutting of the ribbon by the Chief Guest, the Guests of Honour and other illustrious dignitaries, marking the onset of a new stimulating chapter for the school.

Thereafter, the eminences lit the ceremonial lamp of knowledge and wisdom, with the mellifluous invocation of Goddess Saraswati playing in the background.

The school orchestra, Naad, presented an ensemble of soulful, patriotic melodies- ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’ and ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo,’ leaving the audience mesmerised.

“Though music transcends language, culture and time, and though notes are the same, Indian music is unique because it is evolved, sophisticated and the melodies are defined.” The school choir welcomed the audience warmly with their enchanting rendition of ‘Swagatam,’ composed by Anuradha Marathe.

Smt. Deepti Vohra, Principal, D P S Vasant Kunj, the guiding light of the institution welcomed the august gathering. She also thanked the Director, D P S Vasant Kunj, Smt. Bindu Sehgal for her unstinted support in the fruition of this dream project. Shri V. K.  The Welcome Dance-Ganesh Vandana invoked the blessings of the God of wisdom with the reverberating sound of the accompanying drums casting a spell over the audience.

The piece dѐ resistance of the Ceremony was ‘Navrasa’; an enthralling in-house choreography with a staggering 450 students, from classes IV to XII, depicting the confluence of the nine emotions that dictate the canvas of human life; love, laughter, compassion, courage, anger, disgust, fear, wonder and tranquility. The symphonic movements of the zealous dancers enunciated each of these nine emotions and their performances resonated with each and every member of the audience.
