Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj observed English Language Week for classes III to XI, from 24th July 2023 till 28th July 2023. The objective of this endeavour was to make language learning effective and interesting. The plethora of individual and group activities ranging from Designing Posters, Book Jackets With Slogans, Vocabulary Hats, Book Collages, Comic Strips to activities entailing focus on poetry like Poetic Symphony, Rhapsody and Acrostics, the week saw it all happen with fervour and excitement amalgamated with fun filled learning.
The highlight of the English Language Week however was the Theatre Workshop organized for the students of Literary and Dramatics Club of classes VIII and IX on 26th July 2023. Mr. Dilip Shankar, a renowned theatre personality, conducted an enriching interactive session with the students highlighting and demonstrating various aspects of drama like expression, tone, scene enactment and much more. Another acme of the Language Week was the screening of the movie ‘Dead Poet’s Society’ for the students of class XI on 25th July 2023, in the Multi Purpose Hall. It was indeed an exposure for the young minds to a well-directed work of art. The response exhibited by the students affirmed the success of the endeavour and motivated the teachers to make such efforts in the future as well.
