French Exchange Programme with Lycée Sainte-Marie, Caen, France

Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj had the pleasure of hosting 19 students and 3 teachers from Lycée Sainte-Marie, Caen, France, as part of the French Exchange Programme from 4th October to 13th October 2025. This enriching cultural exchange aimed to strengthen international ties and provide students from both countries with meaningful cross-cultural experiences.
During their stay, the French delegation was warmly welcomed by host families and participated in a variety of cultural activities at school. These included rangoli-making, a brief introductory Hindi language class, and interactive sessions with French learning students of various classes, which allowed them to immerse themselves in Indian traditions while giving insight into French way of living.
 A special cultural programme-‘Honouring France, United by Culture’, was also organised in their honour, where they were felicitated by the Principal. In this programme, the French students collaborated with their Indian counterparts to present a lively Bollywood dance performance, showcasing friendship and cross-cultural learning.
They also explored several iconic tourist attractions in Delhi, including Akshardham temple, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, Lotus Temple, and Bangla Sahib Gurudwara gaining insights into India’s rich historical and architectural heritage.
A major highlight of the visit was a one-day trip to Agra, where the group visited the magnificent Taj Mahal, deepening their appreciation for Indian culture and history.
The exchange programme proved to be a valuable experience for all participants, fostering friendship, intercultural understanding, and mutual respect. It was a memorable journey of learning and collaboration, leaving behind cherished memories and a strong foundation for future exchanges.
