Class I

The Jungle Book

DPS Vasant Kunj commemorated its Annual Day for Class I on October 4, 2024, with a resplendent celebration themed around Rudyard Kipling's timeless classic, ‘The Jungle Book’. This spectacular event showcased the creativity, confidence, talents, and unbridled enthusiasm of our young students.

The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, graciously performed by our esteemed Principal, Ms. Deepti Vohra; Headmistress, Ms. Malini K. Sengupta; Supervisors, Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra and Ms. Nandita Yadav, and select grandparents, to invoke the blessings of Almighty. The ceremony was followed by an inspiring welcome address by the school Principal, eloquently emphasizing the pivotal role of family values in the holistic development of the students.

The programme unfolded with a mesmerizing musical rendition, as the students' harmonious voices and radiant countenances captivated the audience, setting a jubilant tone for the day. Thereafter, attired in vibrant costumes, the young students presented a captivating theatrical adaptation of their favourite tale, ‘The Jungle Book’, transporting the audience to the enchanting world of Mowgli and his jungle companions. Their perfectly synchronised performance, articulate dialogue delivery and remarkable acting earned thunderous applause from the audience. The show ended with a breathtaking grand finale where all 241 young performers from Class I, clad in colourful costumes, came together on stage, leaving an indelible impression that mesmerized the audience.

The day culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the school Headmistress, Ms. Malini K Sengupta, who warmly acknowledged the tireless efforts of the students, teachers and parents in making the event an unparalleled spectacle. It was truly a joyous occasion that allowed children to shine on stage, creating cherished memories for both the children and their families.  The day brimmed with pride, joy, and enthusiastic applause for the rising stars of DPS Vasant Kunj.
