Inter DPS National Swimming Meet Girls (Open) 2026
The Inter DPS National Swimming Meet Girls (Open) – 2026, under the esteemed aegis of the Delhi Public School Society, was proudly hosted by Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj on 10th and 11th May 2026. The prestigious championship brought together 105 students from 32 DPS teams from across India, providing a vibrant platform for young swimmers to demonstrate excellence, discipline, determination, and the true spirit.
Inaugural Ceremony (10 May 2026)
The championship commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony marked by enthusiasm, dignity, and sporting fervour. The Principal, Smt Deepti Vohra, welcomed the participants and urged them to give their best to win.
Smt Dolly Chanana, Director, The DPS Society, hoisted the DPS Society flag and administered the oath to the young athletes. She addressed the gathering, inspiring participants to uphold the highest ideals of honesty, discipline, and respect throughout the meet.
Championship Highlights
Over the course of two days, the swimming arena witnessed 15 thrilling events and exceptional performances as swimmers competed across various events with unmatched determination and skill. The meet produced several nail-biting moments that kept spectators and teams engrossed throughout the competition.
Valedictory Ceremony (11 May 2026)
The Valedictory Ceremony marked a fitting conclusion to the championship and celebrated the achievements and perseverance displayed by all participating teams.
The distinguished guests for the occasion included Shri Ravi Vira Gupta, Vice Chairman, The DPS Society and Chairman, Managing Committee, DPS Vasant Kunj and Smt Dolly Chanana, Director, The DPS Society.
The event also carried the blessings and goodwill wishes of Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Honourable Minister Labour and Employment of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, who extended his encouragement and best wishes to all participating athletes for a successful championship.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ravi Vira Gupta, Vice Chairman, The DPS Society and Chairman, Managing Committee, DPS Vasant Kunj, extended his blessings and heartfelt wishes to all the young athletes.
A specially curated audio-visual presentation showcasing the highlights of the championship was screened during the ceremony. The AV beautifully captured the most exhilarating and memorable moments of the meet — from powerful starts and close finishes to celebrations of victory and moments of encouragement among teammates.
Adding grandeur to the valedictory programme, the talented school band Irus presented a soulful musical rendition that captivated the audience and brought a celebratory conclusion to the event.
The ceremony concluded with the felicitation of winners and participants, applauding their dedication, hard work, and sporting spirit. The Vice Principal congratulated all teams for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated the efforts of the organizers, coaches, officials, and volunteers who contributed towards the successful conduct of the event. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
