World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for people and communities to unite behind the theme 'Mental health is a universal human right” to improve knowledge, raise awareness and drive actions that promote and protect everyone's mental health as a universal human right. To make our children understand about Mental Health, various activities were carried out in the junior school from 9th October to 23rd October, 2023 for the students of Classes Nursery-V.For the students of Classes Nursery and Prep, story telling sessions were organised by the class teachers. The students of Classes I and II actively participated in the Hand Puppet Making activity and enjoyed making puppets along with their teachers. The students of Classes III-V designed thought-provoking posters on the topic-Gratitude Tree. An awareness talk on Mental Health and Safe and Unsafe touch for the students of Class V was also conducted by the School Counsellors.
The sensitisation program created awareness among the children about Mental Health-compassion, gratitude and ways to keep themselves safe. It also gave the children an opportunity to understand various ways in which they can seek help, if needed.
