Felicitation Program by The DPS Society
The DPS Society, in its accordant efforts at holistic education, felicitated various members of the DPS Community, who had ranked as medallists at Asian Games 2023 and the Para Asian Games 2023. The Felicitation ceremony was held at DPS Vasant Kunj on the eve of 15th December 2023.
Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur, Honourable Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Minister of Information and Broadcasting was the Chief Guest for the programme.
The momentous occasion was presided over by Shri. B K Chaturvedi, Chairman, The DPS Society and Shri V K Shunglu, Vice-Chairman, The DPS Society. The august gathering was welcomed by Ms. Deepti Vohra, Principal, DPS Vasant Kunj. She congratulated the sporting stars for their well-deserved victories.
Ms. Namita Pradhan, Hony. Treasurer, The DPS Society, Mr Kaushik Dutta, Member, Working Committee, The DPS Society, Admiral M.M Chopra, Member, The DPS Society, Ms. Zeenat Khader, Secretary, The DPS Society, Ms. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director, The DPS Society, Pro Vice-Chairpersons, Principals , and staff from various DPS schools were also in attendance.
The stars of the day were twelve accomplished sportsmen and sportswomen, from DPS Faridabad, DPS Jammu, DPS Sainikpuri, DPS Miyapur and DPS Nachanam. Eight of them won medals at the Asian Games as well as the Para Asian Games 2023, contributing their best to make the tricolour stand tall in the international sporting arena. They were lauded with gold medals, cash prizes, wind cheaters and merit certificates for their spectacular feat.
The program featured captivating music and dance performances by students from DPS Faridabad, DPS R K Puram, and DPS Noida. DPS Vasant Kunj showcased the achievements of the sports stars through a well choreographed audio-video presentation.
Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur applauded the young sports achievers for their stellar performance, expressing appreciation for the DPS Society’s initiative in promoting sports. He stressed on the need to make India a sporting superpower by 2047.The Chairman of the DPS Society, Shri. B K Chaturvedi applauded the young achievers who had brought laurels for the nation and done their alma mater proud.
The felicitation programme underscored the commitment of the DPS Society in nurturing sports talent.
