A promising young artist, Ananya Nair has brought accolades for DPS Vasant Kunj by showcasing her ingenuity. She is a student of Class XII-K and her thought provoking painting has been selected as the cover page of ‘Nai Udaan’, the prestigious quarterly Science Magazine published by Directorate of Education aimed at providing a platform to students to share their work,innovation and ideas. The theme of the magazine this year is ‘Global Warming through the Pandemic’.
Ramjas Basketball Championship League 2022
Ramjas School R.K. Puram organised 26th Ramjas Basketball Championship League 2022 from 22nd November to 2nd December 2022. Our school girls’ team (senior category) Won the Championship by beating Mamta Modern School Vikas Puri by 51-47. Milli Sharma (XI) was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament. Vamika Dahiya (IX) was adjudged Most Potential Player of the Tournament.
Tennis Oholic International Tournament
Tennis Oholic International Tournament was held on 27th November at Guru Nanak Public School, Pitampura. Harshvardhan Baid of Class IV-C participated in the tournament along with other 20 participants from all over Delhi- NCR under the Category of U-8. The tournament consisted of two rounds. He brought laurels to school by winning the first position in both the rounds. He was awarded with a certificate, a medal and a winner trophy in the award ceremony.
Code Warriors, the Tech club of DPS Vasant Kunj, participated in Exun 2022, Interschool Tech Symposium of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram conducted in offline as well as online modes from 7th-13th November, 2022.
Result: DPS Vasant Kunj won the Overall Trophy.

Inter School Shloka Recitation
Gyan Bharti School, Saket organized an Inter-School Shloka Recitation- Srijan Sangam on 29th October,2022, Saturday. Avantika Gupta of class V F brought laurels to school by winning the FIRST PRIZE in the junior category.
PAKHI SRIVASTAVA- BUDDING AUTHOR
Pakhi Srivastava of Class 11F has successfully published her story “The Story of Us” – a short romantic composition tracing the high school lives of two teenagers, in an anthology released by the Story Mirror Society.
Pakhi has also lately participated in an adventure story writing competition held by the Wilbur and Niso Smith Foundation where her tale, ‘The Queen’s Vow’ brought a commendation to her name under the ‘16 – 21 years’ age category.
A short flash-fiction of hers also been published in a UAE based teenage magazine – The Teen Tribune – in their 78th edition.
INSPIRE award MANAK
Shriya Pant of class X-E was selected for the prestigious INSPIRE MANAK Award and was awarded a cash prize of of Rs. 10000/- , for the year 2020-21 for the preparation of a Science project organised by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The project title was, 'Why men suffer from Covid more than women'.
She was further invited to participate in the event 'Building AI Readiness among Young Innovators', a collaborative initiative by INSPIRE-MANAK, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and INTEL INDIA on 12th May, 2022. Her project was titled, 'AI based Intelligent Laparoscope'.
She secured a position in top 200 all over India and attended one-on-one Mentorship Camp organised by Intel India, held at Hotel Pride Plaza, Aerocity, New Delhi, from 2nd - 4th September, 2022. She developed two AI models based on brain stroke detection and submitted the project- "COGNITIVE STROKE DETECTOR". One of her models was based on classification by face recognition and another on symptoms of stroke. She was awarded a 'CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING'.
Shriya was adjudged a top 50 innovative AI Project National Winner at the National Showcase of the 'Building AI Readiness among Young Innovators' program, by The Department of Science and Technology, Inspire Manak-Awards in collaboration with Intel. She was awarded a 'CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT' and a 'MEDAL' by Head INSPIRE & INSPIRE-MANAK, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
The Top 50 National Innovators were invited to attend a pre-national showcase training at Hotel Eros, Nehru Place, New Delhi organised by Intel India from 11-13th September, 2022.
The National Showcase/Exhibition took place at Pragati Maidan on 14th and 15th September, 2022 where all the awardees showcased their projects in front of delegates from the Government as well as the public.
The felicitation ceremony for the National Awardees was held on 16th September, 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The ceremony was attended by Hon'ble Minister of State, Ministry of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences along with other dignitaries from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Shriya Pant received a Medal with a Certificate of Achievement from Head, INSPIRE & INSPIRE - MANAK, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Inter DPS Commerce Fest - “Arthashastram”

On 30th August 2022, ‘Arthashastram’, the Inter DPS Commerce Fest was organized by DPS Greater Noida. The event saw participation from 25 DPS Schools from all over India including DPS Vasant Kunj. All participants actively participated.
Merger Mania event held a preliminary round online in which Top 10 teams were selected to the final offline round. Our school also got selected for the final round.

28th Bro. Mahony Memorial footaball tournament was organised by MSM Delhi Cantt from 30th August to 3rd Sep 2022. Our Senior Boys team stood first in the tournament.
Zonal Basketball Tournament – 2022 (DOE) for boys and girls of Zone – 20 was organized at DPS, Vasant Kunj from 27th Aug 2022 to 02nd Sep 2022. 88 Teams consisting of nearly 910 students of various age categories from 16 different schools participated in the tournament. Zonal Cricket Tournament (DOE) for boys under 14 was organised at Vasant Valley School from 29th August to 1st September 2022. Our school team stood First in the tournament.
Zonal Athletic Meet (DOE) for Boys & Girls was organised at Thyagraj stadium from 6th - 8th September 2022. Our athletes hav won 6 Gold, 9 Silver and 9 Bronze medals in the meet.

Zonal Level Athletic meet was organised by Directorate of Education at Thyagraj stadium on 6th and 7th September 2022.Students of classes 4 and 5 participated in this tournament in the Mini category. The names of the winners are as follows:
Aakriti Sharma of class 5 won a Gold medal in 100 meters and a Silver in 50 meters Race.
Avika Khanna of class 5 won a Bronze medal in Long jump.
Mannansh Kaloria class 4 won a silver medal in 50 meters Race.
Zonal Level Mini Basketball Tournament
Our school girls team participated in the Zonal level Mini basketball tournament held at Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj on 2nd September, 2022 organised by Directorate of Education.The team comprising of 12 members were the runners up in the event.
ESPIRIT 22- Inter-School event
The tiny tots of Class Prep brought laurels to school by winning the FIRST PRIZE in ESPIRIT 22-an Inter-School event held at Bal Bharti Public School, Noida on 3rd September,2022, Saturday. The theme of the event was, "Folklores-Tales Untold". The participants from our school danced on the foot-tapping Kalbeliya song with the depiction of Gangaur Teej festival in the background which belongs to the state of Rajasthan. The team of eight girls won the hearts of everyone present there with their enthralling dance performance. They along with their teachers received accolades for the beautiful synchronisation of dance presentation with the theme. Jasnoor Kaur, of class Prep- B was awarded a special prize for the difficult stunts she performed with ease and grace.

Zonal Lawn Tennis Tournament
Zonal level Tennis tournament was organised by Department of Education at Vasant Valley school on 22nd August, 2022. Adwik Bains (5B), Amiya Rai (5B) and Vivan Taneja (5A) participated in the tournament.
Our school won in the Mini boys category.
Rudraksh Mohapatra (XII), a dynamic and promising scholar was selected for the Yale Young Global Scholars Program 2022 (YYGS) held at Yale University, USA. It is a two-week program that was conducted from 19th to 31st July 2022. He was further selected as a Global Finalist for RISE, a worldwide scholarship competition for higher studies (lifelong opportunities) funded by the Rhodes Trust, USA. Rudraksh won the RICOH Sustainable Development Award 2022 an Initiative for Research and Innovation in STEM, organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. His project was featured among the 100 projects selected at the national level. He also secured the 2nd Best Poster Presentation Award 2021 for innovative research work on “Landslide Susceptibility Analysis and Prediction Integrating Geospatial Technology and Machine Learning” at i-GEOMATICS; organized nationally by IIRS under Indian Space Research Organization, Government of India.
Rudraksh featured in a national daily for his work on measuring the soil loss experienced in a critical river with the purpose of rendering help to the farmers in rural India.
Shivansh Kulshrestha – A Good Samaritan For The Speech And Hearing Impaired
Shivansh Kulshrestha (XII) actively works on making communication and education accessible
and inclusive for people with hearing and speech impairments. He strives for inclusiveness and accessibility through his social venture, research work, non-profit initiatives, patent-pending products, and volunteering work.
He has been among a select few individuals in the world to be selected for the Harvard Summer
School Program, MIT Launch X Program and the University of Pennsylvania’s M&TSI program in July, 2022. A technology and innovation enthusiast, Shivansh has been awarded as the World Finalist at the New York Academy of Science (NYAS), J. Academy Program in November 2021, Finalist at the Global Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge’22 and a Gold Medalist at the World Robotics Olympiad. He also worked at IIT Delhi as an NLP Research intern.
An entrepreneur Shivansh is the founder of Lingocap, India’s first video communication platform for the hearing & speech impaired community built by using real-time speech captioning in 5+ Indian languages and ISL interpretation. Launched nationally by the Minister of Social Justice Shri Ramdas Athawale on 26th August, 2021, Lingocap has over 8000+ registered and 1,350+ active users consisting of deaf schools, NGOs, and family members of users.
Lingocap was awarded Amazon’s AWS Activate Founder’s grant and the Diana Award in 2022, established by the former UK prime minister under the legacy of Princess Diana, for his social contribution to the hearing and speech impaired community.

DCPCR Journal Inauguration Ceremony
The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights through a circular of Department of Education encouraged participation from all schools (aided/unaided/private/govt.) for a painting competition on the theme of ‘Second Year of the Covid-19 Pandemic and how it has significantly disrupted childhood and education of children in the Indian context’.
It was a proud moment for DPS Vasant Kunj as Shiven Sidharth of class 4 and Viraj Sharma of class 2 launched the second journal of DCPCR on Saturday, the 6th of August 2022, with Chief Guest Supreme Court Justice BV Nagarathna in the presence of Deputy CM Mr. Manish Sisodia .
Along with Shiven Sidharth , Aditya Singh of class 4 and Viraj Sharma of class 2 were also invited in the launch ceremony and the paintings of these children are also featured in DCPCR journal.
National Level Cube Competition
A National Level Cube Competition was organized by B2S Educational Institutions in June 2022. Daksha Shankar of Class III-F participated in the “under-8 year category” and won Excellent Cuber award for four Cube categories. She had also won a Gold Medal at the 6th Delhi State Cubing Championship in April this year.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF SHRIYA PANT
The Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and Intel India have designed the ‘Building AI Readiness among Young Innovators’ program for students enrolled under the INSPIRE Awards - MANAK scheme.
Top 200 students were to be selected for phase 2.
Shriya Pant of class 10E had participated in this competition and has been selected in the top 200 students. The idea submitted by her was to incorporate AI in the medical equipment laparoscope so as to reduce the risk of a laparoscopic surgery.
The Top 200 students will be provided further training for AI through INTEL.
COLUMBAN OPEN QUIZ-2022
The 37th edition of the Columban Open Quiz was held on 22nd and 23rd July, 2022. Organised by St. Columba’s School, it is considered one of the most prestigious quiz competitions in North India.
The team comprising Aryan Baibaswata (XII), Anirudh Singh (XII), Kabir Bhalla (XI) and Ameya Malhotra (XI) secured the Runners-up Position. They were awarded a cash prize of ₹3000, certificates of merit and books.

Devaangi Mehra
At this young age, Devaangi is already a published writer. A student of Class VI A of the school, Devaangi published her debut novel, ‘Kiley Saves Dragonia’ in 2021. The book is an adventure story and is available in print and digital formats, both in India and abroad.
This multi-talented girl also has a blog to her credit and is learning Kathak and Guitar as well.

Shivaangi is Devaangi’s younger sister and is following the able footsteps of her talented elder sister.
At the young age of 9 year, Shivaangi too has a book published against her name, titled ' Adventures of Jones Sisters’. The book got published this year and is a collection of two stories. Her book is also available in both print and digital formats.
International Abacus Competition -Brainobrain fest' 2022
In the 7th International Abacus Competition -Brainobrain fest' 2022, Samrita Saigal of Class I, won a trophy and was declared the Champion. Around 23,000 students had participated from over 72 countries.
Kushagra Arora VIII of this school while representing 'India' has won ITF South Asian U/12 Tennis Tournament held at Kathmandu, Nepal from 13th to 18th June 2022. Team 'India' also qualified for ITF Asia under-12 Team Tennis Tournament to be held at Kazakhstan during September 2022.
Kushagra Arora VIII an emerging Lawn Tennis players from this school, who is currently ranked #2 in India under 12 years has been selected to represent Indian in South Asia regional qualifying event to be held at Kathmandu, Nepal from 13th June – 18th June 2022
Normalcy appears to be galloping back to the City with the recently concluded extravaganza conducted by Army Polo and Riding Club -The Anand Delhi Horse Show (from 9th April to 17th April) at the Army Equestrian Centre , Delhi .The event witnessed participation of teams and riders from across the country. Ms Yashwini Singh of DPS Vasant Kunj participated in the renowned event on behalf of the school. The talented rider in her maiden competition brought silver medal in Children Hacks Group 1 on 16 th of April 2022 and a bronze medal in Children Lime and Spoon Race Group 1 on 12th April 2022 in the event. The budding rider establishing complete synergy with her horse volcano displayed her grit and determination achieve podium finish in a highly contested event . The school encourages such potential to further flourish on their talents and wish her more success in life.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF SHIVANSH KULSHRESHTHA
Declared World Finalist at the Junior Academy Program, New York Academy of Sciences
Shivansh Kulshrestha of Class XI- B was declared as the World Finalist in the prestigious Junior Academy Program organized by the New York Academy of Sciences. Every year, the New York Academy of Sciences selects 1000 high school students from across the world to become a part of a global network, alongside peers and mentors. They work together on an online platform called Launchpad, where they compete in project-based challenges based on the Sustainable Development Goals as envisioned by the United Nations. Students gain STEM and research experience, along with developing their skills in collaboration, team-work, and interpersonal communication. Shivansh worked under the mentorship of Professor Vanessa Perillo of the famed Argentine Institute of Oceanography through the 10-week challenge period. He worked on a project on the restoration of aquatic ecosystems using SolidWorks 2019, a 3D CAD design and analysis software. Shivansh was declared as the World Finalist at Junior Academy Program, New York Academy of Sciences for his project DeEutrophi.
