EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS
Awareness is always the first step towards change.
It is crucial to nurture a deep interest and awareness of environmental protection among children from a young age. At DPS Vasant Kunj, we are dedicated to instilling a lifelong passion for loving and conserving our planet among our students. We passionately celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2025, upholding our cherished tradition of meaningful engagement. This celebration was not just an event, but a powerful demonstration of our entire school community coming together through different activities. This annual occasion is a resolute symbol of our unwavering commitment to the Earth.
TREE PLANTATION
The festivities commenced with the participation of school leadership, teachers, and students in a tree plantation drive. The Principal, Mrs. Deepti Vohra, the Vice-Chairman, PTA, Dr. Arvind Kumar, and the students planted trees. The Principal entrusted the students with the daily responsibility of caring for them, imparting the valuable lesson that nature needs lifelong conservation and care.
SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES
Students from both the junior and senior schools participated enthusiastically in two separate assemblies. The younger students exhibited their commitment to environmental protection through a vibrant action song that underscored the significance of nature in our lives. The use of colourful props enhanced the effectiveness of their presentation. Moreover, a compelling play illustrated our collective responsibility regarding global warming, earning praise for the students' confidence and expressive performances. The theme-focused assembly concluded with an engaging theatrical dance that showcased the vibrant and colourful aspects of nature.
The senior school program featured a lively dance performance, followed by a Thought for the Day and a speech on environmental awareness. Students actively engaged by displaying bright posters and banners with meaningful and motivational slogans. Subsequently, they circulated throughout the school premises with their banners and held discussions to promote awareness about necessary actions to address issues such as global warming, environmental pollution, soil erosion, and the depletion of natural resources.
EARTH DAY PLEDGE
An Earth Day pledge united students and teachers in their commitment to preserving our precious heritage for future generations. The pledge educated and motivated the younger generation about environmental stewardship, setting them to become future environmental leaders.
CLASS ACTIVITIES
Students from Classes IX to XII were engaged in slogan writing and poster-making activities, with their creative works displayed prominently throughout the school.
LIGHTS-OFF EVENT
The event extended into the evening, with students and staff coming together to support the cause by switching off their lights for five minutes at 8 p.m. showcasing their unwavering commitment to conserve natural resources.
This event successfully inspired students to take proactive steps toward fostering a greener planet. Though the special day has concluded, the enthusiasm and awareness in young minds have been profoundly ignited.
