An epitome of caring hands, a loving heart, a rooted persona, a humanitarian approach and wise intellect received a warm welcome on July 1, 2022 by the Junior School, as it opened its doors to the newly appointed Headmistress  of the school – Mrs. Malini K. Sengupta.

Mrs. Sengupta spent her formative years at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, an institution that upholds human values as well as the  Kaleidoscopic Indian culture. An alumnus of the prestigious Daulat Ram College, Delhi University, she found her calling in the science of Economics and pursued Economics Honours at the graduate level. Her brilliance and academic acumen once again saw her at the Central Institute of Education, Delhi University in the year 1991. Mrs. Malini K. Sengupta acquired her Bachelor of Education degree from this first major institution of professional learning and research in the field of Education, in the country.

Having made her foray into the field of education and teaching, she joined New Green Fields School, Saket, Delhi immediately after her B.ED, in the capacity of PRT.

Self driven and highly motivated she completed her post-graduation in Economics from Annamalai University in 1993, alongside her teaching assignment. She was promoted to the rank of PGT Economics in 1994 and thereafter  joined the DPS family in 1998 as PGT Economics.

Mrs. Sengupta’s prowess as an educationist and an economist has seen many a learner benefit immensely from her experience and versatile teaching methodology. At DPS Vasant Kunj, she was invested with various responsibilities ranging from being the House Warden of  Ganges House to being the SUPW Incharge. In addition, she was appointed the Class Representative for grade II. Her deep understanding of child psychology coupled with astute management skills touched the hearts of all learners.

A person of sound integrity, she became the Examination Incharge in the year 2001; a duty she discharged once again with extreme sincerity and dedication. Mrs. Gupta donned the mantle of the Head of the Department, Social Studies in the year  2006. She was further appointed as the Academic Co-ordinator of DPS Vasant Kunj in December, 2021.

 

As the newly appointed Headmistress, Mrs. Malini K. Sengupta brings to the fore decades of administrative and educational experience, expertise and needless to say her signature ‘human touch’.
