REPORT ON THE DIWALI SCHOOL ASSEMBLY CONDUCTED BY SUTLEJ HOUSE

Sutlej house conducted the school assembly on 25th Oct, 2016 for all the teachers and students of the school. Although there was no prescribed theme but being close to the celebration of festival on 30th Oct,2016, the focus was on Diwali .The assembly commenced with the thought for the day shared by Tarshi Oberoi of VIII-E. It was followed by sharing of the news both at national and international levels by Shubhi of XI-A and then there was a short dialogue between two girls Amodita of IX-C and Swasti of X-E which was enacted by them on the stage. The theme of this role play was the ‘significance of Diwali’ and how it has gradually lost its original essence and sanctity over the years with various connotations attached to eh celebration of this festival. The proud moment arrived when the Principal awarded the students of our school for their achievements in various fields.  Arushi Malhotra, Aastha Mohapatra, Aniket Jain, Vikram Bawah, Ayush Sikdar and Rishik Raj were awarded for having secured the first position in the ‘Battle of the Bands’ category in the event Crescendo’16 held Cambridge School, Indirapuram. The Indian Senior Solo category was won by Saif Ali Khan of our school at the first position. Saubhagya Shekhar Mohapatra secured the first position in the junior solo category. DPS Vasany Kunj nalso won the overall trophy.  Mihika Dutta of X-D was awarded for being among the top ten scorers (79 out of 80) at the FIT GERMAN EXAM organised by the Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan at Lotus International School. This is an internation al level scholarship exam.Krithik Ranjan of class XI and Mihika Dutta of X-D were awarded the PASCH Scholarship by the Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan for an international youth camporganised at St. Peter Ording, Germany.

 

 


Morning Assembly - Ganges House 8th December-2015


On 8th December 2015, Ganges House conducted the morning assembly . The assembly began with the prayer, followed by a Bhajan, ‘Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram’ by  the student Choir. Then the students presented thought of the day followed by the News. The School Counsellor, Ms. Shalini Prasad enlightened the children about the launch of “Accessible India” campaign,  also known as “Sugamya Bharat Yojna”, on  December 3, 2015 (World disability day) by the Prime Minister. She sensitized the students to respect the differently abled by empathising with them & extending a helping  hand whenever they need. After this the prize distribution took place. The Assembly ended with the National anthem. 

 

Morning Assembly - Ganges House 1st December-2015


On 1st December,2015,Ganges House conducted the morning assembly. The assembly began with the prayer followed by a beautiful song ‘Drops of Jupiter’ by the  students of the school band ‘Irus’. After the song, the students of Ganges House presented the  ‘Thought of the day’ and the national and International news. After this, Dr.Manpreet, the school  doctor enlightened the students about the importance of keeping oneself warm in this changing weather. She warned the students against using the fans after they return from the PE as it causes sudden change in the  body temperature which could prove to be harmful. She also emphasised the need for personal hygiene and practising  other healthy habits like covering one’s mouth and nose while sneezing and coughing, eating healthy food, etc. After this, the students were felicitated with trophies and medals won by them at various Inter- School Competitions as well as National Tournaments.The assembly ended with the National Anthem.
